Shop with a Cop program needs your help

The City of Valdosta Police Department is collecting donations for its annual “Shop with a Cop” event, which will take place on Monday, Dec. 21, at 7 p.m., at the Wal-Mart Super Center, located at 3274 Inner Perimeter Road. The purpose of the program is to brighten the holiday season for Valdosta children who would otherwise receive very little.

Children must live and attend school in the City of Valdosta and be recommended for the program by a police officer, teacher or school principal. Donations collected in the community for the Shop with a Cop program will provide each participating child with the opportunity to shop with a police officer for holiday presents for themselves and others.

The VPD relies on monetary donations to make this event a success. For more information on how to participate or donate to the program, contact Officer Vernotis Williams at (229) 293-3099.
