—
A Valdosta woman was sent to the hospital following a one-vehicle accident on U.S. Highway 84 Tuesday.
Around 8:24 a.m., Georgia State Patrol troopers, Lowndes County Fire/Rescue personnel, Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office deputies and emergency medical services were dispatched to the intersection of Highway 84 West and Tall Pine Drive to find a vehicle crashed into a utility pole.
Georgia State Patrol Public Information Officer Sgt. Brian Gay said that the vehicle, driven by Mina Stevens, 43, of Valdosta, was traveling south on Tall Pine Drive when it crossed over all lanes on Highway 84 and struck the pole.
Gay added that the accident could have been cased by medical problems, but that has not been confirmed.
Stevens was transported to South Georgia Medical Center for treatment and, at press time, had been treated and released, said Laura Love, hospital community relations director.
No citations were issued, Gay said.
