LAKE PARK — The Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office has released three still photos of the bank robber who struck Park Avenue Bank’s Lake Park branch Thursday afternoon.
The photos show a white male, standing 5-foot-5 to 5-foot-7, weighing about 150 pounds. He’s wearing a hooded, maroon, fleece jacket with the hood pulled partially over what appears to be blondish-brown hair. He’s also wearing blue jeans, white shoes and sunglasses.
The images were taken from surveillance video inside and outside the bank.
At 3:45 p.m. Thursday, the man entered Park Avenue Bank, 1012 Lakes Boulevard. He handed the teller a note. The note read: “This is a robbery,” according to the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office.
The robber never displayed a weapon. He received money and left the bank on foot.
It is unknown if the robber worked alone or had someone waiting for him outside of the bank.
This was the third bank robbery in the Valdosta-Lowndes County region this year.
On Sept. 9, Valdosta police made an arrest after the robbery of Bank of America at 106 S. Patterson St.
On May 22, three masked individuals entered Citizens Community Bank, 1210 Baytree Road. The robbers fired shots and shot and injured a bank employee. Valdosta police are still seeking suspects in this case.
Anyone with information about the robbery is urged to call the Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office at (229) 671-2900.
