Celebration marred by theft

Following a full day Saturday of fun at the reunion of the great Hahira Pick 'In, thieves walked away with the commemorative sign presented by Harvey's Supermarkets to the City of Hahira.

"We presented the historic marker Saturday to the Mayor of Hahira and it sat by the stage throughout the day," said Lisa Overman, public relations director for Harveys. " At some point in the evening, someone walked away with it. It cost $1,300 and we would like to have it back, no questions asked."

Overman said if anyone has the marker, if they would please leave it at Hahira's city hall or contact someone in the city, they will happily take it back and not press charges.
