With 55.56 percent of the votes, or 65 votes, Ronnie Lieupo defeated Vivian R. Armstrong for the Dasher City Council Post 2 seat.

“I’ve been on the council for six years,” said the incumbent. “We have a good community, and I am glad I got the chance to serve them for four more years.”

Lieupo recently noted that his fellow members of the Dasher City Council do a very good job solving problems, keeping the community informed and working together. In the years to come, he plans to continue addressing citizen concerns relating to roads, ditches and signs.

“Each post has assignments,” he said. “We also help each other as necessary.”

Lieupo has lived in Dasher for 12 years. He is active in the Elks Lodge, American Legion, and the Georgia Automobile Racing Hall of Fame Association (GARHOFA). He enjoys racing, fishing and mind puzzles like Sudoku and works as an auto frame and body technician.

“I know the community and have the time to do a good job,” he said.

Armstrong received 44.44 percent of the vote or 52 votes.

Military, absentee, and provisional ballots remain outstanding. Tuesday’s election results will remain unofficial until certified by the Lowndes County Board of Elections Friday.
