State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 71 traffic crashes in September in Lowndes County. Sgt. 1st Class L. Carl Taylor said the traffic crashes resulted in 42 injuries and zero traffic deaths.

Taylor said troopers from Post 31 also issued 842 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes 39 arrests for driving under the influence, 87 citations for speeding, 241 seat belt violations, and 47 child restraint violations.

Troopers also issued 635 warnings.

• Lanier County

State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated 11 traffic crashes in September in Lanier County. Sgt. 1st Class L. Carl Taylor said the traffic crashes resulted in seven injuries and zero traffic deaths.

Taylor said troopers from Post 31 also issued 73 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes two arrests for driving under the influence, 21 citations for speeding, 22 seat belt violations, and four child restraint violations.

Troopers also issued 67 warnings.

• Echols County

State troopers from the Tifton Post of the Georgia State Patrol investigated six traffic crashes in September in Echols County. Sgt. 1st Class L. Carl Taylor said the traffic crashes resulted in three injuries and one traffic death.

Taylor said troopers from Post 31 also issued 21 traffic citations in the county during the month. The total includes zero arrests for driving under the influence, six citations for speeding, eight seat belt violations, and one child restraint violation.

Troopers also issued 35 warnings.
