Staff reports

State Sen. Tim Golden, D-Valdosta, has received the endorsement of the Medical Association of Georgia and the Georgia Medical Political Action Committee in his candidacy for re-election to Senate District 8.

“Tim Golden has a long and impressive record of supporting legislation that sustains and improves the way medical doctors can take care of our patients,” said William Clark III, M.D., of Waycross, who will be installed as President of MAG on Sept. 30.

Benjamin H. Cheek, M.D., chairman of GAMPAC, in a letter to the senator, cited Golden’s “continued leadership and commitment to promoting the health and welfare of all citizens across the great state of Georgia. We at MAG understand and greatly appreciate your hard work and unwavering dedication to your constituency.”

Golden had previously been endorsed by the Georgia Nurses Association. He also received the Georgia Hospital Association’s Legislative Leadership Award and was recently recognized as a Champion of Family Medicine by the Georgia Academy of Family Physicians.
