Authorities responded to a report of a car on fire Sunday afternoon in the 600 block of Jones Street in Valdosta. Witnesses said they heard the sound of a wreck around 5 p.m., then saw two men get out of the car, which had struck a tree, and run away. One witness said the men appeared "hurt." The car, a white Mercury Grand Marquis, had a Berrien County license plate. Police are investigating.
