Amanda Freeman, right, attended the Citizenship Washington Focus June 7-14 in Washington, D.C., as a Lowndes County 4-H delegate with her mother, Theresa Freeman. The goals of the Washington Focus were to help 4-H’ers develop a greater understanding of their American heritage, learn basic functions of national government, become familiar with international citizenship and develop attitudes of good citizenship in daily living. The Freemans met with 35 other Georgia 4-H’ers for the trip. On Capitol Hill the group met with Senators Saxby Chambliss and Johnny Isakson.
