Todd Smoot, owner of Get Active-Running and More, center left, passes a check for $2,100 for the Lowndes Veterans Council to Valdosta's American Legion Post 13 Commander Ed Kent Tuesday morning along with sponsors, from left, Lacy Dixon, Valdosta-Lowndes County Sports Commission, Scott James, owner of Small Town Broadcasting, Alice Smoot, Whit Chappell, president of the Lowndes Veterans Council, and Ernie Florig, Post 13 Adjutant. The money was raised from the 3rd Annual Baytree 8K race held on July 4, with Smoot as one of the major sponsors for the race which raised a grand total of $4,105.12.
