4-H'er attends horse school
VALDOSTA — Alexis Everett and her horse, Flame, recently attended the 2008 State Horse School in Perry at the Georgia National Fairgrounds.
Everett and Flame competed in the saddle seat division. In addition to riding instruction, the school focuses on working with 4-Hers on safety, nutrition, horse heath and wellness and also helps develop life skills.
Everett, an upcoming eighth-grader at Hahira Middle School, is the daughter of Joan Everett and Joseph Henkles of Valdosta.
She is a member of the Lowndes County 4-H Horse Club, led by 4-H volunteer Amanda Adamski of JustAmere Farms.
She is also the junior 4-H advisor for the Lowndes 4-H County Council Board, a district Project Achievement participant, member of the Junior Leadership Club, certified 4-H teen leader, as well as the 2008 Junior Miss 4-H.
