I-75 update

Contractors for Georgia DOT will perform major reconstruction of Interstate 75 at different locations between Exit 37(Adel/Old Quitman Road) and the Crisp/Dooly County line. To ensure motorist and contractor safety, this work will warrant lane closures and traffic shifts along this section of I-75, which could cause short delays. The DOT reports the following construction activities are tentatively planned for through July 10.

COOK/TIFT: Contractors will have various construction activities between Exits 37 and 59 northbound and southbound. There will be no lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

COOK: Contractors have shifted southbound traffic onto newly constructed pavement between Exit 37 and Exit 49. The southbound rest area in Cook County is temporarily closed for road construction.

TURNER: Contractors have various construction lane closures planned beginning at milepost 78 to milepost 84, northbound and southbound. There will be no lane closures from 7a.m. to 7 p.m.

CRISP: Contractors have various construction activities which could include lane closures from Exit 99/SR 300 to the Dooly County line. Southbound I-75 traffic has been shifted onto the relocated lanes of Interstate 75 between Exits 99 and 104. This project requires much of the southbound shoulder to be temporarily closed with barrier walls. Emergency pull-offs will be provided at various locations throughout the southbound lanes between milepost 98 and the Crisp\Dooly County line to create areas to pull over in an emergency situation. There will be no lane closures from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The DOT notes that the above construction schedules are proposed activities planned by the contractors and may change due to weather conditions or other factors.
