824th SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON RETURNS HOME
MOODY AIR FORCE BASE, Ga. – Members of the 824th Security Forces Squadron, a unit under the 820th Security Forces Group at Moody Air Force Base, are returning home on today from Camp Bucca, Iraq.
While deployed, the squadron conducted continuous outside-the-wire security operations. The 820th SFG provides the best trained and best equipped ground combat Airmen in the U.S. Air Force to the fight. The group stands constantly ready to support contingency operations across the globe at the orders of the president.
The 820th SFG is part of the 93rd Air Ground Operations Wing, which is a tenant unit at Moody.
“It’s especially significant that these combat-proven warriors are returning this weekend, a time during which we commemorate and celebrate the sacrifice and success of our forefathers during their struggle to forge our great nation,” said Col. Donald Derry, 820th Security Forces Group commander. “The men and women of the 824th SFS follow in the proud tradition of these patriots. I am grateful for their service and the high standard of excellence with which they represented the 820th SFG and the United States Air Force."
