Berrien makes nine drug-related arrests

BERRIEN COUNTY — In their efforts to combat drugs and crime in the community, Berrien County authorities have made nine drug-related arrests in the past two months.

On April 17, Berrien County Sheriff’s deputies arrested David Purvis, 39 of Enigma, and charged him with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, said Berrien County Sheriff’s Investigator Mike Register.

The same day in an unrelated incident, deputies arrested Anthony Edmonds, 21 of Enigma. Edmonds received six felony charges of illegal possession of a controlled substance, sale of a controlled substance - Valium, possession and distribution of a Schedule IV substance, possession and distribution of a Schedule III substance, possession of drugs to be kept in original container and use of communication device to facilitate drug transaction, Register said.

On April 23, Jarvis Lee Edmonds, 21 of Enigma, was arrested and charged with sale of marijuana.

Deputies arrested Angelia Foster, 32 of Nashville, on May 6 and charged her with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana. Foster was also booked on three outstanding warrants from 2006 for DUI, DUI - child endangerment and defective equipment, Register said.

On May 9, deputies arrested Joshua Gallahair and charged him with open container and marijuana possession, Register said. During the same incident, Terry Brogdon, Jr. was arrested and charged with DUI, possession of marijuana, carrying a concealed weapon and other minor traffic offenses.

The next day in an unrelated incident, deputies arrested Jonathan Alexander and charged him with cocaine possession.

Keith Berry, 26 of Valdosta, was arrested on May 12 and charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, Register said. Randall Davis, 24 of Nashville, was arrested during the same incident and charged with giving false information to a police officer and marijuana possession with intent to distribute. At the time of the suspects’ arrests, authorities found two ounces of marijuana in their vehicle, Register said.
