Leadership Lowndes get set to run for charity

— The Leadership Lowndes Class of 2008 is gearing up to “run for the children” during the 5K Road Race & 1 Mile Fun Run and Walk Saturday.
The event, which begins at the Children’s Advocacy Center at 7 a.m., will feature two major activities and include participants of all ages.
Awards will also be presented to the top two participants in each age group.
The funds raised during the event will benefit the CAC of Lowndes County, Inc., a non-profit organization that strives to promote prevention and awareness of child abuse, while minimizing the trauma of children who have been abused. Registration for the run is $20 for each participant. Race packets are available at Get Active Running & More until Friday. On the day of the event, parking will be available along Moore and High Streets as well as the Valdosta State University parking lots on Georgia Avenue and Patterson Street (next to the Admissions Office).
