LAKELAND — A reception was recently held at Lanier County Board of Education to honor the hard work and dedication of the district’s substitute teachers.
District level administrators, principals and the faculty members of each building have great appreciation for the contribution each substitute teacher makes to the students’ education.
During the reception, Superintendent Keith Humphrey presented each substitute teacher with a Certificate of Appreciation.
Special plaques were also presented to substitute teachers reaching milestone years of three, six and 12 years of devoted service to Lanier County Schools. Those receiving plaques for three years of service were Lori Ecker, Martha Hiers, Doris Horne and Cindy Zirkle. Stephanie McGuire was honored for six years of service and Rhetta Houston for 12 years of service to Lanier County Schools.
Anyone interested in becoming a substitute teacher for the 2008-2009 school year should contact Reada Hamm or Kenya Wiggins at Lanier County Board of Education, (229) 482-3966.
