Hotel robbed at gunpoint

— The clerk of a local hotel was robbed at gunpoint at approximately 6:30 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Valdosta Police Department.
An unknown male entered the Econolodge at 3022 James Road, displayed a handgun and demanded money. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash and left the business. It is unknown if the suspect fled the area on foot or in a vehicle. No injuries were reported. Police department detectives, a crime scene unit, and K-9 unit responded to the scene.
