Cake decorating hours expanded

VALDOSTA — In order to accommodate those in the new cake-decorating category of the 40th Anniversary Valdosta Daily Times Cookbook Contest, competitors who have been chosen for the Taste-off may bring their cakes at 10:30 a.m. June 7 and work on them until 3 p.m.

Just call Elizabeth Butler at 244-3400, Ext. 256, today if you want to enter that category. We must see an example of a previous cake you decorated. E-mail the picture to elizabeth.butler@gaflnews.com.

Today is the last day to enter. Recipes must be in the VDT office by 5 p.m. today.

New entries in the contest are 8-year-old Drew Greene and Priscilla Greene of Adel; 11-year-old Jamie Flythe, 13-year-old Lauren Reed and Nita Reed of Hahira; Teresa Davis of Homerville; Sandy Harrell of Lake Park; and Sandra Di Pietro, Mel Figueiras, Carolyn Force, 10-year-old Tiffany Hicks, Verna S. Looney, Sonia S. Rozier, Teresa Steinberg, Jennifer Vance, Rhonda Watson and Lyndal Webb of Valdosta.
