Moody recreational officials will showcase a variety of products and activities during the Outdoor Adventures Extravaganza from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. March 14 at the base’s Mission Lake picnic area.

The day-long event, hosted by the base’s Outdoor Recreation office, will include free food from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., demonstrations and information from local vendors and free random prize drawings.

Prizes include a camper rental, deep sea fishing trip, 10-person paintball party and a weekend 2-person cabin and boat rental at Moody’s Grassy Pond recreation area.

“We will have more than 20 vendors showcasing their products, including (personal watercraft), boats, fishing supplies, all-terrain vehicles and archery,” said Sonny Couture, 23rd Force Support Squadron Outdoor Adventures manager. “Moody members will be able to explore what outdoor recreational activities the surrounding area has to offer.”

In addition to the product showcase, Moody’s Bass-Fishing Club will hold a clinic on local-area fishing. Representatives from Grassy Pond, Equipment Rental, Splatter Swamp paintball field and the base pools will also be present to talk about their facilities.

The event will also feature a paintball shooting contest and fishing-line casting accuracy contest.

“We would really love for Airmen to show up and have a great time; this is for you,” said Steve Barnes, 23rd FSS commercial sponsorship coordinator. “The outdoor recreation team has created the perfect event, with something for everyone from our youngest Airman to our valued retiree customers.”
