Letters to the Editor for Sunday, Aug. 3, 2008

• Working hard

There are a lot of folks out there who work hard to make ends meet. Some get up early to work and some work late at night. During their free time what they want is their own business.

If it was not for The Times, where would you get your home news? All praise to all employees at The Times.

I found this poem below on a Web site and I think if you read it, you might get to thinking.

Nobody’s Friend

My name is Gossip. I have no respect for justice

I maim without killing. I break hearts and ruin lives.

I am cunning and malicious and gather strength with age.

The more I am quoted the more I am believed.

My victims are helpless.

They cannot protect themselves against me because I have no name and no face.

To trap me down is impossible.
