• Concerned about the future

I am becoming more and more concerned about the future of our great country.

In a little over four months, Barack Obama has been tearing down what it took our Founders and ancestors over 200 years to build up.

Look at some of the facts. He has gone on a spending spree that will result in our children and grandchildren trying to pay off an enormous debt; we have witnessed the largest increase in the federal government since World War II; the banking and car industries have essentially been nationalized; unrealistic gas mileage standards will mean less safe cars at a higher price; he is pushing for socialized medicine which will result in health-care rationing and the destruction of the finest health-care system in the world; cap and trade legislation is looming on the horizon which will mean mammoth increases in the cost of electricity and gasoline, all based on the bogus premise of global warming; unemployment is now reaching double digits.

In two world tours, instead of praising the greatness of America, Obama has apologized for our alleged past transgressions. While Americans are losing their jobs and struggling financially, he takes his wife to New York for a date and flies his family to France for a weekend junket at taxpayer expense.

He has now appointed numerous “czars” who report directly to him, completely bypassing Congress. Our Founding Fathers intended to avoid this very scenario by establishing three branches of government with the resulting checks and balances.

Wake up America! If these actions continue, our country as we know it will cease to exist.

Richard C. Sturtevant
