Business This Week: Denny’s hits a grand slam

Also, down that way, the former Tavern / Whiskey River is apparently closed, again.

There is a new hearing center now open on Baytree Road, across from Remerton Square.

The soon-to-be-renovated Winn Dixie at Five Points should have a new neighbor soon, if things go well, and I’ll let you know as soon as it’s official.

If you’ve driven by the mall lately, they have some snazzy new signs at the entrances as it’s now just Valdosta Mall and not Colonial Mall Valdosta anymore.

There’s a property transaction in the Homefront this week with a $2 million sale on Norman Drive. As far as I can tell, it’s not an address that currently has a business on it, so I’m not sure where it is or what it’s fixing to be, but I’ve got some good sources working on it and will let you know as soon as I find out.

And I’m sorry, but I don’t get to pick the “Best of’s”... they won’t even let me count the ballots. Most of them are online anyway, but still, business owners seem to think that I have some pull. Sadly, no.

That’s about it for this week, but if there’s something I missed, please let me know!
