VALDOSTA — “Human Inspiration”: Features Stravinsky’s “Scherzo à la russe,” Tchaikovsky’s “Romeo and Juliet Overture-Fantasy,” Prokofiev’s Symphony No. 5 in B-flat Major, Op. 100. Synopsis: “Acclaimed Maestro Alasdair Neale, music director of the Marin Symphony and former resident conductor of the San Francisco Symphony, leads the VSO in Prokofiev’s glorious Fifth Symphony, which was composed as a testament to the spirit of humanity.” Run date: March 8.

“The Free Will”: Features Brahms’ “Hungarian Dance No. 5” (arr. Parlow), Chopin’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in F Minor, Op. 21, Brahms’ Symphony No. 3 in F Major, Op. 90. Synopsis: “The VSO’s 24th season will end with a flourish, as dazzling world-renowned pianist Katia Skanavi performs Chopin’s sparkling second piano concerto. Brahms’ soaring Third Symphony musically captures his declaration, ‘Free but happy.’” Run date: April 26.
