“9 to 5: The Musical”: Music and Lyrics by Dolly Parton, with book by Patricia Resnick, based on the 1980 movie. Synopsis: “Pushed to the boiling point by their boss, three female co-workers concoct a plan to get even with the sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot.” Performance dates: Already playing. Next performances: Aug. 15-17.
“Driving Miss Daisy”: Theatre Guild revives this show with the return of Joanne Griner, Dr. John Gaston and Robert Hatton reprising their roles. It is the well-known story adapted for stage. Though TGV has presented this show previously, this is the first time it has been performed on The Dosta Playhouse stage. Run dates: Aug. 23, 24, 25.
“To Kill a Mockingbird”: Adapted by Christopher Sergel from the novel by Harper Lee. Synopsis: “Harper Lee’s riveting tale of Southern prejudice and hope is brought to life in this sensational stage adaptation.” Auditions scheduled for Oct. 7, 8. Performance dates: Dec. 5-8, 12-14.
“Dixie Swim Club”: A comedy by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope and Jamie Wooten. Synopsis: “Five women, whose friendship began many years ago on their college swim team, set aside one weekend every year to recharge those relationships.” Auditions scheduled for Dec. 9, 10. Performance dates: Jan. 30 through Feb. 2, Feb. 6-8.
“California Suite”: A comedy by Neil Simon. Synopsis: “This is Neil Simon at his best — a humorous confection that will definitely make you laugh and warm your heart.” Auditions scheduled for March 24, 25. Performance dates: May 8-11, 15-17.
