Kirk Franklin returns to Wild Adventures

VALDOSTA — Kirk Franklin fuses contemporary Christian with gospel, funk with hip-hop, pop with R&B.

This evening, the hit-making Christian artist returns to play a concert at Wild Adventures.

Franklin finds his faith in the experiences of his past and the belief he has for tomorrow.

Through God and music, he has found solace.

“One day I was in the middle of a very bad situation,” he says in remarks on his website referring to his 2011 album. “I was walking through the front of my house with this problem weighing heavy on my spirit when God literally just dropped the first lines of this song, along with a melody, on my heart. I sat down at the piano and out came, ‘Hello fear/Before you sit down there’s something I’d like to explain.’ That’s all I had for a couple of months. What’s funny, though, is that from just that idea, I knew I wanted to call my next album Hello Fear.”

Franklin is a dynamic performer, creating a show for the senses and the soul.

Kirk Franklin plays 8 p.m. today, Wild Adventures Theme Park, Old Clyattville Road. Admission: Show is included in regular park admission; reserved seating is available for an additional price. More information: Visit www.wildadventures.com
