Valdosta Lowndes 2nd Annual Bethune Recognition Announced

VALDOSTA — Nominations are now opened for the 2nd Annual Bethune Leadership Recognition Program, which honors outstanding women in Valdosta and Surrounding local communities who have contributed “untiring” service to this area.  NCNW believes this is a great opportunity for each and every organization, churches and schools to honor its members by singling her out to represent them by nomination for this award.

On the evening of the event, each nominee will be honored based on work conducted to benefit the community and their organization.  Six “outstanding” nominees (two high school, two collegiate level and two community-level) will be selected and recognized as the “Top Leaders” during the recognition program.

Each nominee was asked to submit an essay stating the “impact she feels she has made on the community through her work in the community”, which will be judged.  Top leaders will be selected based on their involvement, leadership and services given/provided.

The National Bethune Recognition Program was established in 1974 by members of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut sections as a way to honor Dr. Dorothy I. Height for her commitment to her community and the organization.  To nominate an outstanding young lady in one or each category contact 229-234-2353, NCNWofValdosta@gmail.org or visit www.ncnwofvaldosta.org.  The Bethune Leadership Banquet will be held on Saturday, October 18th at 6 pm at the James H.
