2014 Early Movies



7: “The LEGO Movie,” animated feature built around the playing blocks’ popular video games. “The Monument’s Men,” George Clooney, Bill Murray, John Goodman, etc., in this World War II film about the platoon assigned to save priceless art from the Nazis. “Cavemen,” a playboy tired of one-night stands seeks love. “A Fantastic Fear of Everything,” comic Simon Pegg plays a crime novelist paranoid from his books' plots. “One Chance,” based on the true story of a salesman who becomes famous upon singing an operatic aria on “Britain’s Got Talent.”

12: “Robocop,” remake of the film about a man who becomes a cyborg law-enforcement officer.

14: “Vampire Academy,” a girls school for vampires. “Winter’s Tale” stars Russell Crowe, Will Smith, Colin Farrell, Jennifer Connelly set in a magical New York spanning a century. “About Last Night,” starring Michael Ealy, Kevin Hart, etc., remake of the 1980s comedy of the same name. “Endless Love,” remake of the 1980s love story of the same name. “Date and Switch,” high school seniors vow to “score” before the prom. “Adult World,” woman dreams of becoming a poet but works in an adult bookstore. “Three Days to Kill,” Kevin Costner is a dying Secret Service agent given a chance to have it all in an action comedy. “Jimmy P.” Benicio del Toro as a Native American World War II vet with a strange affliction.

21: “Pompeii,” epic tale of the fall of the Roman city and the people who lived in the shadow of the volcano. “Barefoot,” an outcast son of a rich family brings home a gal who enchants the entire family. “In Secret,” Elizabeth Olsen stars in this 1860s Parisian tale of “love, adultery and revenge.”

28: “The Son of God,” the producers, who made the popular television show “The Bible" last year, return with a big-screen production about the life of Jesus. “Non-Stop,” Liam Neeson action thriller, playing an air marshal who must thwart a threat to an international flight. “Repentance,” a man overcomes his past but remains haunted by its consequences.
