Crime report for Monday, May 12, 2008



Valdosta Police Department

Saturday

• At 12:18 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of West Martin Luther King Jr. Drive where they arrested Robert Peak IV, 23, of Valdosta, on charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute and cocaine selling, according to reports. Also arrested was Nicole Evans, 28, of Valdosta, on a charge of probation violation, reports said.

Friday

• At 1:13 a.m., police responded to 1705 Norman Drive, where they arrested Gordon Sumner, 31, of Valdosta, on a charge of battery, according to reports. A witness told police that Sumner struck a female victim in the face while they were in a bar in Remerton, reports said.

• At 8:26 p.m., police responded to a store on the Madison Highway where they arrested Juan Lemus, 22, of Valdosta on a charge of shoplifting, reports said.

• At 12:15 p.m., police responded to 610 Baytree Roadm where they arrested Reginald Harris Jr., 22, of Valdosta on charges of burglary/forced entry to a residence and possession of burglary tools, reports said.

Thursday

• At 2:10 p.m., police stopped Alex Berrian, 18, of Valdosta in the 600 block of South Fry Street and arrested him on charges of possession of cocaine and seat belt/child restraint violation, according to reports. Also arrested were Jeremy McGee, 18, of Valdosta on a charge of possession of cocaine, and Tolando Jones, 19, of Valdosta, on a charge of possession of cocaine, seat belt/child restraint violation and other traffic violations, reports said.

• At 3 p.m., police responded to a store on Baytree Road and arrested Marilynn Montgomery, 21, of Nashville, on a charge of shoplifting, reports said.

• At 11:51 p.m., police stopped Kenneth Drysdale Smith, 36, of Valdosta in the 1800 block of West Hill Avenue for having a defective headlight and no tail lights, according to reports. Smith was arrested on charges of DUI and equipment violations, reports said.
