Mary Francis Griner Bowlin
Mrs. Mary Francis Griner Bowlin, 68, of Lake City, passed away Thursday, Jan. 19, 2006, at a Lake City hospital.
Mrs. Bowlin was born in Cottondale, Fla., and had lived in Bay County for many years. She was Baptist by faith, and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her two sons, Bill E. Slaughter, Jr. and wife Cindy of Valdosta and Bobby C. Slaughter and wife Melisa of Fountain, Fla.; a daughter, Pamela Mizzell of Jackson; a brother, Lester Griner of Lake City; and her grandsons, Cody Clayton Slaughter, Donald Edward Marshall, Scotty Chadwick Slaughter and wife Kerri and Joshua David Slaughter.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Floyd Wright officiating. Entombment will follow at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Bowlin's name may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2012-A Lisenby Avenue, Panama City, Fla., 32405.— Kent-Forest Lawn, Panama City, Fla.
QUITMAN
Ruth Elizabeth Jarvis
Ruth Elizabeth Jarvis, 96, of Quitman died Friday, Jan. 20, 2006, at the Presbyterian Home after a lengthy illness.
Born in Brooks County, she was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist Faith.
She is survived by two daughters, Mary Jane Seago of Valdosta, Virginia Spencer of Quitman; two sons, Donald (Catherine) Jarvis of Crawfordsville, Fla., Billy Jarvis of Quitman; one brother, Frank Harris of Odom; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 23 in Oak Hill Cemetery with the Rev. Ray Calvin officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home tonight from 6-8 p.m.
