VALDOSTA — Business Roundup

The Lifeway Christian store is opening on Friday, Sept. 20. The new store is located at the corner of Gornto Road and Baytree, and they have completely renovated the former Hollywood Video location. It looks completely different and with that corner so heavily traveled, it’s nice to see a new business there instead of an empty building.

There is a sign on a storefront in the Baytree Plaza that says Vapor Lounge. No other information was posted last week, but will be curious to see what type of establishment it is.

The building permits are in Homefront today for the Wendy’s rebuild on St. Augustine Road along with the Hooters remodeling. I’m guessing they’re not as close to opening as previously stated, and efforts to contact someone with a set opening date have been unsuccessful so far, but as soon as I find out, I’ll pass it on.

I understand the City Market downtown is having an anniversary event (their 5th?) this Thursday evening. What a fun, friendly and cool place to shop.

I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned this previously but I was asked this week to mention it again — Lake Park Dogs is under new ownership and they are really doing a good job of creating a great atmosphere and good food.

There is a sign on the car wash on North Ashley Street near SGMC that says it, too, is under new ownership and the name is changing to the Oasis Express.

Another apparent name change this week. I understand that Greek Row screen printing will now be Spirit: Screen Printing and Embroidery.

It looks like the Cornbread Skillet on North Ashley is now closed and they are not moving to another location at this time.

I’m keeping tabs on the Sam’s Club and Gondoliers restaurant construction on Norman and the Wendy’s construction on St. Augustine. Maybe soon we’ll see construction beginning on the Golden Corral going in by the OG and Drury Inn.

That’s it for this week, but if there’s something I missed, please let me know!
