VALDOSTA — Business Roundup

A groundbreaking event was held this week for the new Egg and I restaurant, which will be built on N. Ashley St. in the professional plaza. The new restaurant is slated to open in the spring of next year.

Sort of good news, bad news for the Lake Park area. It appears that Camping World is looking to locate there, but I also understand, and am not sure if it’s related, that the strip center/ former outlets on the west side of the interstate are being torn down. The YMCA and at least one other local business are looking to relocate.

Also in Lake Park, Taco Bell is moving to the other side of the interstate with one of its brand new designs like the one here on N. Ashley St.

The restaurant is locating on a vacant parcel close to the exit.

There is a site beside the Chick Fil A on Inner Perimeter being prepped but no sign to indicate what may be locating there. Do any readers know?

Alas, the Slice pizzeria in Hahira is not yet open. I jumped the gun. But it should be in the next couple of weeks.

The new Studio Imagination in Remerton opened this week. It’s a studio for painting pottery, and is a great place for an art lovers’ outing.

Lots of road work going on this week -- didn’t realize how badly N. Valdosta Road needing repaving until they started working on it. Looks and rides much better now.

Otherwise, construction continues on numerous sites around the county, including on the Drury Inn on St. Augustine, the Heritage Bank of the South and Publix on Inner Perimeter, and all the work being done on the hospital.

That’s it for this week, but if there’s something I missed, please let me know!
