The new national trendy store, Buckle, will be opening its doors at the Valdosta Mall on July 11. There are a lot of young shoppers enthusiastic about the prospect of having one of the stores locally, rather than having to go out of town to shop there.
More good news, especially for the folks wanting a place to go eat and play games. The Mill at Remerton Square has the signage in place, and all permits are pulled with renovations on the interior going strong. They are looking towards an August opening.
Thanks to their newspaper ad this week, I can now also report that the RugRat Play Zone is now open. They feature wall to wall, glow in the dark fun with a variety of combat type games, inflatables and a party room.
There is a new Big Al’s restaurant/ bar going in on Highway 41 South soon, where the pizza place used to be.
I understand that Two Friends Cafe and Restaurant is getting ready to undergo a major renovation and will be closing for a short time in August. Great news for the eatery, located in Summit Pointe, as the dinner service has really been bringing in a lot of diners.
And no, I don’t have an opening date yet for Hooters but as soon as I do, I will certainly pass it on.
Otherwise, fairly quiet right now but hopefully things will pick up again soon. And yes, that’s all I have for this week, but if there’s something I missed, please let me know!
