VALDOSTA — The Hilton Garden Inn provides the height of luxury in the city’s highest structure, with seven stories of spacious suites, comfortable rooms, and a long list of extras sure to excite even the most selective traveler.
Located on Gornto Road, the Inn also boasts its own full-service restaurant, the Great American Grill, along with amenities such as free wireless access, a 24-hour fitness center, conference room with ergonomically correct seating, an outdoor heated pool, and a luxurious banquet room that can seat nearly 300.
General Manager Denise Foster said the banquet room serves as the primary location for the Inn’s sumptuous Sunday brunch, served on a table nearly the length of the entire room with carving stations at the end. The banquet room, named for classic literary icons Dante Alighieri and Albert Camus, is also available for parties, meetings, weddings, family or other events.
The 163-room Inn features several different room styles, each decorated in a classic and stylish manner in soothing shades of green and beige, with dark wood furniture. Each room comes with a microwave and a mini-fridge, and there are spacious rooms with queen- and king-size beds as well as suites that feature a separate living room area. Rooms are priced at $139 and up.
The view from the top of the hotel shows a wide expanse of Valdosta. Visitors will be able to see even the spires of the downtown churches as well as the roof of the courthouse and the new judicial complex. The vista from all vantage points is charming and expansive.
Foster said the Inn is currently employing nearly 60, and will soon offer a lounge area on the first floor.
Located just past the grand foyer, the Great American Grill features a breakfast buffet for $10.95, a full lunch buffet including drink for $7.95 Monday through Friday, and a la carte menu items for dinner. The Sunday brunch list is expansive, with more than two dozen desserts in addition to two meat carving stations, and a long list of featured items, plus a waffle station, all for $12.95 per person.
Dining-room manager Candi Forster said the Inn also features in-room dining from 5 to 10 p.m. daily.
From the smallest details to the essentials, Foster said the Hilton Garden Inn strives to provide each guest with the same amount of attention and courtesy that one expects in a full-service experience.
