VALDOSTA — Valdosta now has a fine consignment and furnishings boutique. Owners Terri Taylor and Mindy Sackewitz make sure their customers fully enjoy their shopping experience.

Shuffle Fine Consignment & Furnishings opened on Oct. 1. For Taylor and Sackewitz the way the items are displayed is very important as it creates a welcoming and enjoyable atmosphere. Every single item has its own spot to make sure it fits and it matches the overall interior of the store. One room looks like a cozy and yet upscale furnished living room, another one is a sweet baby room, another one looks like a clothes boutique. The store smells good and the music adds a final touch to the pleasure of shopping. The owners even offer coffee and cake to their guests while they are on the lookout for treasure.

“We want the people to come here and enjoy their shopping experience,” Taylor said.

“I think we are more ‘boutiquey,’ and I think there isn’t anything like us in town. There are places like that on the East and West coasts, but not in Georgia,” Sackewitz said.

The attractive interior is also a result of the quality items, so Taylor and Sackewitz carefully choose what to take from people — only “the highest quality items, spotless, pressed, and on hangers” and “gently used, high quality furniture, home accessories and antiques that are of style that is in strong demand.”

“We are accepting items of a higher quality. Some of the things we have have never been used,” Taylor said.

Some of the brands that can be found at the shop are Bebe, Laundry by Shelli Segal; handbags by Coach, Marc Jacobs, Kate Spade, Kooba; jeans by James, Citizens of Humanity, Age, and a lot more. In addition to all the accessories, clothes and furniture, Shuffle has a photo album of bigger items such as bedding, bedroom settings, dining rooms, and more for buyers to look at.

“Sometimes people want to change something about their house, so they buy it from here, and then an item they could circulate they bring here to sell,” Sackewitz said.

Q: What is different about your consignment store compared to others in Valdosta?

A: Sackewitz: I think we are more ‘boutiquey,’ and I think there isn’t anything like us in town. There are places like that on the East and West coasts, but not in Georgia. We design our own pricing labels, personalized bags and tissue papers, and we have a wish list.

Q: How’s your business going since you opened?
