VALDOSTA — Being pregnant and being a mother became even more exciting since Moms 2 Bee Maternity and More store opened in May, 2008.

To open a maternity store has always been a dream of owner Teresa Etheridge. She also thought Valdosta needed one.

“So, I decided to do this for Valdosta and the surrounding areas,” she said.

Etheridge has been working with Langdale Forest Products for 26 years and she is still employed full time there.

“Working in the lumber industry is a passion I have, and having a business is a dream of mine,” she said.

The new business she started satisfied another passion of hers— meeting new people, especially first-time moms.

“Working and meeting with new people that are first-time moms is very exciting because when they come here, and they are trying new clothes and are being overexcited about being pregnant, and it’s not even showing yet,” Etheridge noted.

Her store is prepared for all the stages of pregnancy. Moms 2 Bee has a belly bump that the customer can put on while trying maternity clothes and see what she will look like. Other items that make pregnancy easier and a more enjoyable experience are available as well.

Moms 2 Bee specializes in nursing products such as products for morning sickness, nausea, nursing pumps, and a lot more.

“More and more moms are nursing today,” Etheridge said.

After the pregnancy comes the motherhood, which is not less exhilarating. Etheridge added infant clothing, gifts and accessories to satisfy the infant’s needs too.

She stays current and constantly carries new items, and now she even has Halloween costumes for the little ones like the Lady Bug and Bumblebee.

“I’ve had so much fun dressing the infants in unique baby outfits,” she said.

Q: What brands of maternity clothing do you carry?
