VALDOSTA — New machines will keep Interstate Diesel Service moving into the future.

The business added the new machines to complement its already broad range of services. The newest service the business provides is troubleshooting and repair of hydraulic cylinders for commercial and industrial trucks as well as handicap vans.

Dave “Beaner” Matis, the hydraulic specialist at Interstate Diesel Service, is famous for his 40 years of experience in this field — 20 years in the military working with hydraulic machinery, and 20 more after.

A month and a half ago, Denise and Bobby Brogdon, the owners of Interstate Diesel Service, decided they had everything necessary to offer a full hydraulic service.

“We have the basic hydraulic parts on stock, but we can order and have other hydraulic parts by the next day,” said Denise Brogdon. “So now we offer new additions to the truck repair.”

Matis said he is available for road calls as well, in case the truck cannot be driven to the shop.

In January, two new machines were added to the shop’s services — the U-bolt bending machine and the driveline machine.

Jimmy Carter is the driveline specialist at Interstate Diesel Service. He has 10 years of experience in this field. Carter said that they customize different sizes of U-bolts, and work on drivelines for race cars as well as balance the drivelines of heavy equipment.

Interstate Diesel Service is located at 2050 Briarwood Road.

Q: How long have you been in the truck-service business?

A: Denise Brogdon: “We have been in this business for 11 years.”

Q: What are some additional services you offer?
