VSU softball stays alive; wins 5-4 in 11th inning

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — VSU Blazers softball won a squeaker this morning in the NCAA Softball Championship Tournament in Louisville, Ky.

In the bottom of the 11th inning, tied 4-4 with the Augustana, S.D., team, VSU’s Samantha Posey stepped to the plate and hit a home run, making the score VSU, 5; Augustana, 4. It was Posey’s eighth home run of the season.

Though losing Wednesday’s game against UC-San Diego, Thursday’s win ensures VSU continues playing in the tournament.
