Two more Blazers get NFL shot
After a trio of former Valdosta State players signed free agent deals over the weekend, two additional Blazers have now received their chance at chasing National Football League dreams.

VSU advances to GSC softball championship game
It was a day of mixed emotions for the Valdosta State softball team at the Gulf South Conference tournament in Cullman, Ala. But after defeating the top-seeded Alabama-Huntsville Chargers, 4-3 on Friday, the Blazers fell 6-4 to Delta State in Game 2, the bottom line is that the Blazers have earned a spot in an all-or-nothing GSC championship game today at Heritage Park.
3rd time's the charm
For someone that isn't worried about awards or recognition, Courtney Albritton sure has a knack for attracting it.
The Valdosta State junior star was named the Gulf South Conference Player of the Year for the third straight season Wednesday. Albritton becomes only the second player to earn the conference's top honor three times as Alabama-Huntsville's Stephanie Pinto won the award from 2004-06.
Valdosta State men's tennis makes South Region
The Valdosta State men's tennis team got the news it was waiting for Tuesday night when the NCAA released its region tournament brackets.
The Blazers were one of three Gulf South Conference teams in the final South Region rankings and in the seven-team tournament field, which opens the Division II postseason.
Valdosta State hosts Bets & Birdies fundraiser
Valdosta State is going all in on its fundraising efforts.
For the first time, the VSU athletic department is having one department-wide push in its Bets & Birdies event June 19-20, which includes a silent auction and casino night followed by a golf outing at Kinderlou Forest Golf Club.
