Valdosta, Winston-Salem mayors make wager on title game

FLORENCE, Ala. —

The mayors of Valdosta and Winston-Salem have made a bet surrounding Saturday's Division II national championsip game.

Valdosta Mayor John Gayle and Winston-Salem Mayor Allen Joines have agreed on the terms of a friendly wager.

If the Blazers (11-2) are victorious Saturday, he will receive a box of doughnuts and some Texas Pete Hot Sauce. If the Rams (13-0) are victorious, Gale will owe Joines a box of South Georgia Pecans.

Gale attempted to make a wager on last week's game with the mayor of Mankato, Minn., but never received a return phone call to set up the terms of the wager.
