For hours after their arrival at Wenatchee, Wash., on Oct. 5, 1931, Clyde Pangborn and Hugh Herndon, Jr., were questioned and photographed by newspapermen. The pair had just flown for 41 hours from Samushiro Beach in Japan, the first non-stop flight across the Pacific Ocean.
