Jill Herring, of Tift County, holds a fawn she helped to rescue in this undated photo from Georgia Wildlife Rescue Association. Herring and her sister attended the GWRA's first basic care class two years ago, Director Chet Powell said, and about an hour after the class ended they got their first call to help an injured animal. The third such class will be held Feb. 8 in Thomasville; registrations are now being accepted.
