Emergency personnel responded to an accident on I-75 Monday around 6 p.m. A Mazda Tribute, traveling northbound, left the roadway just north of exit 16. The vehicle appeared to have flipped at least once before coming to rest near a tree next to a fence behind the Lowndes Board of Education. Two adults, one male, one female, were taken by ambulance to South Georgia Medical Center. Firefighters worked for approximately 15 minutes to extricate the male driver of the vehicle. Two children, including a toddler, were also in the vehicle but did not appear to be seriously injured. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
