REMERTON — Do you love sweet things? Then Sweet Loves, LLC is the place to go. Remerton’s newest specialty shop offers the sweetest, high quality fudge around. Many flavors are readily available including chocolate, peanut butter, caramel peanut, creamsicle, cookies and cream, butternut, vanilla and much more.
Almost 100 different flavor/nut combinations can be ordered, including unique flavors like chocolate explosion and chocolate cheesecake, as well as holiday flavors like pumpkin spice, eggnog and peppermint. Products are available in store, made-to-order or for dessert catering.
The multitude of decadent fudge flavors will soon be joined by other “sweet” options. Adorable gift bags and baskets will make perfect presents for birthdays and other holidays. They will be made-to-order, making the options unlimited. Coffee will be another in-store option for customers to enjoy while they sample the best fudge around.
Owners Debbie Baxter and Edris Brannen spent many years in teaching. Brannen is still teaching in the Echols County school system. When working together, they decided to open a business that catered to the sweet things that people loved — fudge seemed like the perfect start.
Their first business venture took place at Sturgis, an annual motorcycle rally in South Dakota. Even in the heat of summer, the interest in their product was overwhelming. Baxter and Brannen also set up at Valdosta Technical College’s Harvest Ed and had a great experience. They plan to participate in more community events as well, including the Sheriff’s Department’s Halloween festival and the Jingle Bell Festival downtown.
For now, Sweet Loves, LLC is a simple fudge shop in the quaint business district of Remerton, but much more is in store.
Q: What makes this store unique?
A: We were aiming to recreate a time of simplicity. Our store features simple, yet bright and cheery colors and decor; simple, inexpensive products and a very comfortable, laid back atmosphere.
Q: Prices?
A: Fudge is $10 per pound. Other increment weights are determined based on this scale. Gift baskets will vary, depending on what is included.
Q: Discounts/specials?
A: Right now anyone buying one pound will receive a quarter of a pound for free. We also give a business-to- business discount.
Q: How far in advance must orders be placed?
A: Preferably, 48 hours in advance.
Q: What are your most popular flavors?
A: Pumpkin pie, cookies and cream, caramel peanut and regular chocolate.
Q: How is business?
A: We just got our signs up, so people haven’t really known we were here. We are doing well for the stage we are in and when we take our products anywhere, business is very good. We expect things to increase more as people discover us and the holiday season nears.
Q:: What are your expectations?
A: We hope to expand and offer the public other products than just fudge. We also want to provide shoppers with a unique place that offers great-tasting fudge — a place not easily found in this area.
Q: What should people know?
A: Our fudge is great and made from high-quality products, but it is relatively inexpensive. We are working as close friends — this is exhibited in the atmosphere and our relations with customers. We treat everyone that comes into the store as a friend. We are proud of our product and really enjoy doing this.
